Shannon Avery

My drive to create is fueled by a passion for art. Infusing creativity in meaningful art is a daunting, yet exhilarating challenge. I love the challenge of capturing on film what my eyes see. I appreciate the detail in executing a unique aesthetic in each edited piece. Creatively, from the drawing board to each skillful edit, no detail is overlooked. I respect my talents and I remain curious about what each project will teach me.

Having played Division I sports, I know what it means to stop and celebrate the little things in gigantic moments. I'm proud to hold stride with USA Softball Olympic Gold Medalists, such as Jessica Mendoza and Natasha Watley, while sharing love for a common sport. I understand what a treasure it is to interview a legend like Coach John Wooden and capture his words in a way that will touch your soul. I can appreciate spending my lunch hour with Tommy Lasorda, and then lacing the Los Angeles Dodgers' iconic tradition through opening day promotions, including banners and a half page Los Angeles Times Ad.

Most recently, I was humbled with the amazing opportunity of chronicling Reese Witherspoon's transformation as a softball Olympian in James L. Brook's movie, "How Do You Know?" and then her transformation as a Cirque performer in the upcoming movie, "Water For Elephants." I was nimble in documenting her training moves, her commitment to each character, and her compelling view of hard work. I was lucky enough to capture her heart for excellence, which shines brightly through her commitment in her daily work.

While documenting the best of the best, UCLA Athletics has allowed me to record success in great variety. I am proud to have organized over 30 years of champions through projects for Wooden Academy, men's golf, softball, water polo, swimming and diving, and Sue Enquist. Perhaps the most invigorating piece was authenticating Bruin pride in a 30 second, 11 million dollar campaign commercial that aired at the Rose Bowl.

I feel honored to sprinkle these magical moments into a typical work day, using strategic, innovative solutions to provide my clients with a piece of art they can relish in forever. Allow me to begin etching your paramount of success by stimulating a visual that you can proudly stand behind. Enough from me... read what just of few of my clients have to say!
